
The Ballard Institute is proud to be Connecticut's State Puppet Museum.

The museum was incredibly interactive in its manner of bringing both this, and the ancient and global origins of object theatre, to the fore. My favourite ever theatre show is an object theater piece, from France. They became England’s best-known puppet company, and pioneered the introduction of puppets on British television in the 1930s. Actually, puppetry one of the most visually and physically exciting forms of contemporary theatre. The 38th edition of the annual International Marionette Festival in October and November of this year, is connected to the little museum. Since 1978, this art space has been educating and entertaining people of all ages. You will get to see how these art pieces are made and enjoy some fantastic live performances tailored for all the family. Since Lorraine had used a puppet back during her professional clown days, we found visiting this museum fascinating. At the Ljubljana Castle, you can view the fascinating Museum of Puppetry, where you will be greeted by many friends from the stage. Hogarth Puppets was founded in 1932 in London by Jan Bussell and Ann Hogarth, and used a variety of puppet techniques to create literary dramas, children’s tales, poetry and songs, and music hall and circus acts. The Puppet Museum recently opened in Lugano, Switzerland. The Center for Puppetry Arts is one of the world's finest museums focused on puppetry as an art form.

While small in size, it is full of the history of how puppets were (and are still) made and how they work.

The museum curates and produces exhibitions of puppetry, both at the museum and for touring across the United States, and offers regular puppet performances, workshops, forums, and scholarly events, as well as museum tours. Located in the heart of Old Lyon, the GuignolLittle Puppet Museum was opened in 1995.

The Ballard Institute includes a superb collection of more than 2,500 puppets from all over the world an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials and photographs all covering the history of puppetry, including the Puppeteers of America Audio-Visual Collection. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the Center is both a puppet theater and museum which features traveling and permanent exhibits of puppets, and has two theaters.
